Point 1- After meeting people with different religions, Pi’s curiosity and attachment to the religions makes him adopt it. As Pi gets surrounded by all the three priests of three different religions in front of his parents, he confesses to the readers that, “They didn’t know, I was practicing Hindu,Christian, and Muslim,”(Martel,64). Practicing more than one religion is really not accepted in India. All the priests and including his parents were surprised that Pi is practicing more than one religion.

Right on the first page of the beginning of the chapter, Pi informs us that his “majors were religious studies and zoology,” (Martel, 3). Pi did a double major bachelor’s degree in University of Toronto. Martel could not have mix science and religion in any more obvious way. On the page, the next sentenced introduced how his religious studies thesis concerned some specific aspects for the theory of Isaac Luria. Isaac Luria is a religious and spiritual but he has as well has a obsession and curiosity of how the universe began which also mixes in a bit of science into it.. The three-toed sloths clearly sounds like zoology. Mr. and Mr.Kumar were two of the important people in his life who shared each of one thing that Pi loved: Science and Religion.Pi ends up taking his two favorite interests from childhood and making it as part of his future by studying
