In “Life of Pi” by Yann Martel, the author demonstrates Pi’s savage side by having him come to terms with the fact that he had to kill to survive. The quote “It is simple and brutal: a person can get used to anything, even killing,” from the novel shows what one can get used to, even if it’s gruesome.
