The Life of Pablo, which was originally supposed to be called So Help Me God and Swish and many other trial and errors that did not make the cut. The Life of Pablo is Kanye West’s 7th studio album, which was first released only through streaming. Although the album is Kanye Wests’, he had plenty of help with engineering and creating lyrics for the album with others and even Grammy nominee musicians. Some of the musicians who were featured on the gospel-rap album were Kid Cudi; Chance the Rapper, Andre 3000, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, and many more. Kanye West has several Grammies and classics under his name in the music industry as well. He even features on other musician’s album as a guest feature as well. I choose an album of his that wasn’t his worst, Yeezus, but also wasn’t his best, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, because it will allow the reader to see his spectrum of music and get a good idea of his music style. The audience intended for this album are people who like rap music over the age of 13. Others’ input on this album is it gets a ton of mixed reviews some being those who like the ‘Old School Kanye’, those who like conscious rap and enjoy it and people who like when an artist change and evolve for the better and love Kanyes newest album, which is where my stance resides. After reading my evaluation, I want my readers to be able to see the dimension that new conscious rap offers rather than shuffling it under an ignorant mindset that is often pertained on todays’ generation of rap music. The fact that rap music can be conscious and still offer a powerful message. Choosing this album achieved my purpose with the audience because it allows to make an evident example that even though Kanye is a ‘mainstream’ artists he makes rap music that is conscious and talks about things that need to be said. He is a respected musician who is perfect to influence his

Kanye West is a hip-hop recording artist and is notoriously known for his unique style of music. He left college in order to pursue his musical career. In his own music, he is more concerned with the concept of religion, racism, family, and higher education. One noteworthy song that came out of that album was Jesus Walks.…

A hero could be someone who surpasses great obstacles, or someone who simply follows a certain lifestyle. Considered by many to be the, “Most talented Rapper of his Generation,” Kendrick Lamar has become extremely influential and popular since the release of his hit album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City (Stone). It is this great influence around which his second and most recent album, To Pimp A Butterfly, is based. Throughout the album Lamar struggles in dealing with his wealth and influence: each song is a slow progression from an abusive, wealthy consumer to a wiser man who understands the good he can do with his power and influence. At the beginning of his album, Lamar blatantly abuses his power: he is a carless, all consuming “caterpillar” (Mortal Man).…

Kanye West is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, and most notably one of the most successful musicians as of today. Despite his inspirational achievements, Mr. West was once a college dropout with a dead-end job and a dream of pursuing music; however, many record labels denied his requests to publish his solo work. Not only being denied at first as a solo musician, West also dropped out of college at the age of 20 to pursue his dream to be a musician. His debut album, “The College Dropout” meticulously described his struggle to get his foot in the door as well as telling his listeners a story of carving their own path. In the album, Kanye takes his listeners on his journey to rock bottom as a dropout in his early 20’s all the way to him starting…

Eminem will rap so fast that many people would not be able to understand what he is trying to verbalize through the song. That doesn’t mean I don’t like Eminem it is just that he can not make good music because he focuses on spitting, he is from a pure lyrical standpoint, so rappers will place him higher but Kanye simply makes better music in my opinion. In the scheme of things, I think Kanye has an immense ramification in the hip hop world because of the way his production is set up. which surprisingly redesigns the friction between humankind and music. Kanye’s power resides in his wild creativity and expressiveness, his mastery of style, and his deep and uncompromising attachment to a self-made aesthetic that he expresses through means that are entirely of the moment: rap music, digital downloads, fashion, Twitter, blogs, live streaming video.…

Kanye West reputation was built in another way. He had been producing hip-hop beats since he was thirteen and had already began selling his beats to well-known artists and groups. That trend only went upward as the years went on, eventually catching the attention of Roc-A-Fella artists. After producing for multiple artists within that label, he, much like Eminem, caught the attention of a critically acclaimed hip hop superstar: Jay-Z. And like Dr. Dre did with Eminem, Jay-Z signed Kanye West to his record…

Identity is one of the most important concepts that humans have; it allows us to understand who we are, who we have been and who we will be. An individual’s sense of identity is based on their cultural identity as it links a person to their heritage which helps them identify with others who share the same traditions, practices and beliefs that they do. Once a person is robbed of their traditional beliefs, heritage and other aspects of their native culture- they begin to lose a sense of self and ultimately their personal and cultural identity will start to fade as there is no connection to what was once important in their lives. This situation is in fact true for African-Americans, as in the past, majority of their ancestors were forced from…
