The prophet stated in the midst of the congregation that “ from whoever I am a mawla, then Ali is his mawla.” Even the second righteous caliph of the Sunnis’ authority, has congratulated Ali “ you become the mawla of every man and women.” However, the word Mawla has many shades of meaning to range from a friend, supporter and a higher master. This discrete manifestation of the ethos of Mawla played controversial debates among Muslims. Between those who have stated that the prophet was appointing Ali as the high esteem and affection, not as a leader-follower. And others who held that Prophet’s intention was unambiguous, Ali is the one to be followed after Prophet’s death. The Shia manifested the Imam Ali as a role player throughout the devotional practices of Muslims. It is the doctrinal and cosmological frameworks through which the authority of the Shia- centered around individuals from Ahl- Al Bayt, known as Imam.
