When you think about going to college and playing a sport your first thought is how does someone balance all of that. Well, honestly, most people don’t but the ones that do have a tough time balancing homework, their sport and their job if they have one. To show you what the life of a college athlete is like and to show how it 's different from high school, I interviewed Hannah Jones from the women 's soccer team.
I 've known Hannah about all my life, we grew up playing soccer together and going to school together so I know how she balances most of her stuff, but now that we are out of high school I don’t know how she does it. Mr. Lohman requires you to attend study table on certain days, where they do homework and study for two hours, Hannah says she gets a lot done then and it helps her in the long run. Another way to make sure she keeps her schooling on track is she writes everything down. “ I do my homework before and after class, it 's hard right now because I have a Bio class and its a lot of homework so like english and Humanities is easy but when it comes to math and Bio it gets harder to keep up, I frequently check blackboard and write down when I need to start studying for tests, doing that makes it easier to do soccer and keep up on homework.” Hannah works one day a week when she doesn’t have a game or a late class, with her having practice in the middle of the day she is required to make her schedule around soccer which at times keeps her at school from 8am to 6pm. One other questions I asked was how is it harder balancing everything in high school compared to doing it in college and her response, in my eyes was spot on. Hannah states that “ In high school we were pretty much guided and there was always someone to hold our hands along the way but in college you manage your own time so in a way, high school sets us up
