One of the most important factors in launching a start-up business is having a clear sense of what the proprietor hopes to achieve with his or her organization. At first glance, Everyday Indulgence is simply a distributor of desserts, which are luxury items. Beyond that, however, the company seeks to embed itself in the community. Leftover food items will be donated daily to local charities. This will also be accomplished initially by being present at local events and festivals and sponsorship of family oriented activities and eventually by providing local jobs as well as partnering with local and independent artisans and restaurants to enhance exposure for mutual benefit. There is not currently a business like this in the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon area and the development of such a company would be a positive addition, both through the enjoyment of its products and the level to which the organization is willing to give back to the
