The song I chose was “Life is like a dice game” by Nas. It was released in 1996. It was one of his songs on the “Nasty Nas Demo Tape 1991”. Nas is one my favorite rappers of all time. He has amazing lyrics and flow. All his songs has meaning or messages in them. But this one particularly really stood out to me because it had a really smooth beat to it. You can tell it was made in the 90’s because of how the beat and the rhythm of the song resembles a lot of songs that were made in that era. But this song had a really good message behind it. And I thought it represented my life and really everyone’s life. If you listen to the song it started out saying “I wake up every morning, thinking about what we gon do today.” There’s got to be a better way.”

There’s got to be a better way than what I’m doing now, because there’s was a point of time in my life where I was just waking up early every morning going to work at a low paying job. And I wanted something better for my life. I didn’t want to do this every day for the rest of my life. I wanted to be my own boss. And make better money than I’m making now. Another line in the song says “I’m anti-jail for real.” I’m anti-jail because I don’t want to go to jail for something I have no business doing like selling drugs.
