For the last week I struggled with what I was going to write my paper on. I wanted a paper that had an amazing message as well as being well written. I wanted to write something that the reader could be touched by, that they continued to think about and that they could apply to their own daily lives. As the week went on I thought desperately on what I could write about. It wasn’t until I went golfing this weekend that I received a message of my own. A message that would change the way I think for the rest of my life. After playing eighteen holes of golf, I started my journey home by ordering an Uber. When I ordered the Uber the driver’s picture came up as it always does. At …show more content…
I know, it sounds like a simple conversation starter but when he asked me these questions there was excitement in his voice. It was met with the same excitement a father would ask a son how his big game went. It was more of an invite of him wanting to know all about it. Almost as if he couldn’t wait to hear about all the excitement he had missed. We shared our passion for the gym and spoke about my personal lifting goals. He went on to tell me that he loves working out because it reminds him of his days playing professional football for the Chicago Bears. It was such a surprise to hear that this whole time I was with Glenn Crane of the Chicago Bears! This man was so humble, kind, loving, caring, and yet he was one of the best defensive players for the Chicago Bears in the 70s. Despite his successful professional NFL career he was able to stay grounded. I barely knew this man but I looked up to him and hope I came off as genuine as he
