There has been times where I have faced the feeling of being on top of the world and other times where I have felt like I was completely buried alive. I have had a rough journey but every step I have taken on my path has made me who I am today. In May of 2000, I was born in Seattle, WA at the University of Washington hospital. It was an exciting day, not just because of my birth, but because I had been born on my older sisters birthday. We are exactly eight years apart from each other. The first two years of my life I was raised by both my mother and father, but after those two years it kind of crumbled away…my family. My father was an abusive person who did not choose the right path after I was born. He started making very poor decisions. My mother, sister, and I moved to Lake Wenatchee, WA with my grandma, and that was where I was raised up until 5th grade. My grandma is my miracle. She isn’t with us now but she got us through everything and she is who I look up to, still to this day. She was like my soul sister and best friend. In middle school I did a lot of summarizing and note taking in different schools. It was mainly topics the teacher had assigned from books or a movie in class. I believe the very first essay I did was in 8th grade. Transitioning into high school was when I saw more of the hard writing such as, essays or just being given a topic, and how many paragraphs were required. In my freshman and sophomore years I did a total of 5 essays. Freshman year was when I did an essay based on myself followed by a research paper; then come sophomore year was when I was introduced to the different types of essays. We did some summarizing during the reading of books then after each book read, my teacher either assigned an argumentative, persuasive, or informative essay that had to do with the book itself or a character. I got along with my teacher in high school but I felt like I was never getting the feedback I needed. I love to write but I need much practice in
