Life In Shadows

The website link I chose was, Life in Shadows: Hidden Children of the Holocaust. It is a part of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website. From the moment you enter, this website really makes you think. The opening page is a dramatic all black with these statistics; “In 1939 nine million Jews lived in what would soon be Nazi territories. In 1945 six million Jews are dead, one million being children.” I thought that was a clever entrance into the actual site, it most definitely got me thinking. The site itself is built of different sections that you can click on and read more about.
The site offers an artifact gallery that you can look at as well. The gallery has several artifacts that show the history of the Holocaust and are laid out in an almost 3D fashion.

There are real stories from the hidden that are shared, along with interactive ways that they tell that story and show pictures. I like this most of about the website, because it allows you to move the pictures and different things on the screen to learn the story about each person. It makes you think of them as a true human being and gives you a tiny glimpse into what they left behind and how they must have been so terribly scared of being discovered. A weakness of the website, if I had to pick one, would be it can be a little confusing at first to navigate. Other than that, I believe it is an extremely impressive site that you can learn many things from. I spent quite some time exploring the site because it had many things to look at and kept my interest high with the true stories and accounts. It was a fun website to be on and very informative, but at the same time made me feel very sad (I actually stated tearing up reading the story about Estera). Overall, the website moved me, something I did not expect, and I would highly recommend

From 1941 to 1945, approximately six million jews died by being put into crematoriums, gas chambers, and by getting shot just for the reason they were contrasting individuals. There are victims’ stories, buried bodies that were found, and trials that proved the Holocaust existed. Many believe the Holocaust did not exist, and they think it was just a hoax, but when there is enough evidence, they can be proven wrong. The Holocaust was one of the most important events in history that affected everyone emotionally and physically, and for that reason, it existed.…

When watching John Cassavetes’s film, Shadows, one of the first elements that intrigues me the most is the cinematography. He does an excellent job of telling the story not so much through the story being told, but the way it is told in the different shots. A lot of directors and cinematographers often do not have the same vision when it comes to telling the story of the film, but both Cassavetes and cinematographer, Erich Kollmar, take it to the next level. The films use of cinematography is very similar to conventional Hollywood/mainstream filmmaking, but Cassavetes also puts a little twist to it.…

Holocaust Paper The Holocaust museum located in Washington D.C. has an interesting history from the efforts that went into the creation and design of this museum. Part of what makes this museum so interesting is the architecture, artifacts and the way that the museum tries to evoke the audience’s emotions. A thing to remember when discussing the Holocaust exhibits is that the museum wanted the audience to understand that, “the museum in Washington D.C., is not a center of Holocaust remembrance, but an extension of the fabric of the center: the original sites. ” These subjects can give a sense of meaning to the audience and how they could perceive the Holocaust in their own way.…

One listen to these slaughtered classics might set you against these numbers for all time to come. My advice to you is; DO NOT BUY or LISTEN TO THIS GARBAGE!…
