According to Dr. Henrie, this is what is called “the cluttered nest”, and is said to have a negative effect on marriages (2016); however, since my grandfather passed away, my aunt and uncle being there close to help her was beneficial for my grandmother. My aunt and mother call her the “puzzle queen”. She was excitedly telling me about this 1000 puzzle that she really wants to get (after her current one is finished of course). She also likes to get together and see a movie with her friend, Betty. When my brother and I were younger, my grandmother was the one to take care of it, so we used to go with. Although she is not the most social person, she is constantly buying food to donation at homeless shelters or other organizations. My grandmother stated during the interview, “nothing ever really bothered me much, I was never much of worrier, well, only the small things”, she joked. She also is very kind, loving, and thoughtful person, but does not like to be social. Based on this information and the Big Five Factor Model, I would conclude that my grandmother is high in agreeableness, and conscientiousness; however, low in neuroticism and extraversion (Henrie, 2016). As my grandmother aged, she experienced many physical changes. About 10 years ago, my grandmother developed Diabetes, which is due to insufficient insulin (Henrie, 2016). Due to this, she has had to change her diet and exercise more in order to remain healthy. She has also broken the same hip twice due to falling, therefore it has been replaced.
