Both the literary and film works were successful in their own ways, but in my opinion I enjoyed reading the play more. Do not misinterpret my opinion though, because I also believe that the director of the film did an excellent job executing the task given to him when he decided to bring this play into a reality. Overall, when watching the film I truly loved the music that was played towards the beginning, middle, and end. The actors however, could have put forth a bit more of emphasis and emotion towards their roles. At times, I felt as if when watching the movie I did not feel nor see the same emotions I felt and pictured while reading the play. That in my opinion, is the greatest weakness of the movie. The actors occasionally failed to portray the roles given to them. For example, when reading the play I pictured Willy being a lot more dominant from the beginning , yet Willy’s horrible ways was shown more towards the middle of the movie. Another example would be, the way I pictured Linda’s character during the last scene (Willy’s funeral), it actually brought alligator tears to my eyes, but when I watched the film I was quite disappointed to see how the scene was actually set up. The actor did not put enough true heartfelt emotion during the scene, in my opinion. Would I recommend this film to others ? The answer is yes , although
