I agree the that the major themes of the life course perspective are important to the social work practice because it is a framework for courses of life. As social worker we be knowledgeable about clients’ history. Through assessments we learn clients age, race, gender, culture, religion, educational background, work experience, marital status, and health issues. All of this information is important when considering the major themes and how they are vital to us as social workers. Knowing the clients’ past history, where and who they are in the present can help us empower them to be who what to be in the future.
