Personal life coaching or life coaching as such is a late entrant in the areas of learning and development concerned with the human faculty. Life coaching as such is now a big industry with executives, working professionals across various industries and organizations and even those people who would like to seek career help or direction are indulged in hiring the services of life coach. In a usual sense, coaching involves an activity that involves getting the best out of a person to enable him or her to make decisions that would improve his/her life.
People due to diverse reasons such as climbing the career ladder faster, to feel more fulfilled at work, improving relationships with their partners and friends, to learn parenting skills, to gain a spiritual meaning to life are hiring the services of life coaches. The profession of life coaching is becoming widely acknowledged and embraced because people are realizing the effectiveness of this type of coaching. Life coaches are experts who help in achieving goals: This statement, even though is true to some extent. However, not all coaches are experts in real sense. In this coaching industry, anybody can term himself as life coach, holistic health coach, spiritual coach etc. as this industry is not yet fully regulated. Many people who represent themselves as life coach have no knowledge about what coaching is all about as they have not been trained or have not been coached by a professionally trained and credential coach or institute. Therefore, the quality of these coaches dramatically varies and as such, these coaches are not dependable. Henceforth, it is better to hire the services of only those coaches who have been accredited by institutions such as the International Coaching Federation or ICF, iPEC
