My grandmother’s battle with cancer taught me many things over the years that she blessed my life. When my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, she didn’t go around depressed because of the diagnosis, she was determined that nothing was going to stop her from enjoying her life. That gave me the great impression of determination, and how life is not always going to be easy, but you have to be willing to push through the bad times if you want to live a happy and fulfilling life. My grandmother’s death at the hands of cancer alerted me to the fact that tomorrow is not promised. Your life could end at any moment, so you need to make sure that nothing goes unsaid between you, your family, and your friends. Our time on Earth is limited, so you need to make absolutely sure that your appreciation for your family and friends does not go unexpressed.
Every person has a story, with many events having many effects on each person’s character. The causes that have taken place in my story to shape my character are my grandmother being diagnosed with cancer, and my grandmother passing away in the fall of my freshman year. When you go out and continue the next chapter of your own story, stay determined to make it through the ups and downs of life and always make sure that your appreciation for your friends and family never goes
