He feels as if paying for all the pills and procedures he will need to treat all of his conditions would be a waste of money. He feels as if he could do better things with the money, like pass his saving down to his grandchildren to give them a jump start on their college tuition. He does not want to die a long drawn out painful death, he would like to lie down and go quietly and peacefully. The man does not understand why people think that it is wrong for an old person to want to end their own life. He does not like the fact that if he did decide to end his own life it would be classified a suicide. His death would become just another statistic of elderly people who have taken their own lives. It should be used to have someone who will go through lots of pain and a very bad way of dying. There should be a process you should have to go through before you are even considered to be a candidate for assisted dying. The process should be one where a person’s whole family is involved to make this hard decision.
