Life After The War-Personal Narrative

two years ago I was sitting at home with the T.V. on, watching my daily news when suddenly the T.V. cut to an emergency broadcast. The ground shook and I knew the worst thing imaginable was about to unfold. The next words out of this reporter’s mouth would decide if I run out the door to the vault or finish my coffee. For the past three years we’ve been at war with almost every country. And today might be the day one of those countries decides to drop nukes and wipe us out the next words would decide life or death.
~~~ONE YEAR LATER ~~~
My goal today is to find a new gun. James (the tradesman) agreed to give me a new rifle if I get him some hide from a Brahmin. Brahmin are pack mules of this era, but if you use them right their hide can make great rifle holders and shoulder packs. They have two heads, and have mutated over the years because of the radiation levels. I remember when life was simple and I could just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, and not worry about the settlement being raided. No one is here to protect us. It’s us and the wild. ~~~TWO DAYS AFTER THE BOMBS DROPPED~~~
After I ran to the vault they lowered us in a really long elevator ride that took, what seemed like, thirty minutes. They fed us, and put us in
waiting to hear if my life was over and now I’m fighting for my life, shooting people finding new creatures everyday formed from the nasty concoction of people and radiation, and waiting for the one day I fuck up. Cause one day I will. I will and no one will care. Out here I’m my own group, an outcast, the lone wanderer. Sometimes I’ll occasionally go to prim gamble a little bit with caps (the new currency since they’re so common) and trade for some guns or ammo or whatever I need. The world I knew is no longer here. It’s a new age, and I really needed a cup of coffee before this. We should have been better. We should have watched what we were doing in the past cause there is no
    I am so glad I had the priveledge to see the movie, War Room, with my Life Group. I have to admit, since applying Miss Clara's war room, my quality of prayer has greatly improve. I not only know who and what I am praying for, but I actual have strategic pray life that makes sense; that I can follow and easily adjust as God directs me because I can see Him in my plans more clearer. My target prayers go up on my bedroom wall. And I immediately receive scriptures from the Holy Spirit to use in my prayers.…
    During my time in the Army, I have had plenty of obstacles, one in particular would be when I was a RTO (radio tech operator) and we were attached to another battalion to go raid a village. We patrolled all night until we walked twelve miles to our location avoiding helicopters flying in the sky looking for us. Once we finally set up an OP (observation post) we had a team go out and recon the village and we established a plan on how we were going to attack the village. My squad only had about nine of us, so we were not initially part of the main element to go in and assault the village. However, as we started creeping up to the first obstacle, a fence, helicopters started patrolling for us again.…
I would help schools by supplying money for books. Instead of being a white school it would benefit both races. I would help fix the railroad because railroad are needed for shipping goods, food, and weapons. I would hire all former slaves to help rebuild the railroad.…
    It was a rainy morning in Seattle, and I wore my Army dress uniform. Stepping off the bus, I ran 100 yards to the entrance of the Airport. After I purchased my ticket and checked my bags, I headed to the bar. It was the time of the winter equinox, and I was headed home with my discharge in my duffle bag. I suppose I should have worn my civilian clothes, but I had been stateside six months, and the comradeship I experienced in Vietnam had yet to loosen its grip on me.…
Later on, we got ordered to form into a wagon train and we soon started our journey. After traveling for some time, we arrived at a warehouse, where we had to pick up our supplies.…
    From growing up in a military family, I have become very resilient and I adapt really well to change. With my surroundings changing all the time, I have to be able to quickly adapt to my new setting and find ways to fit in as quickly as possible. I have been to about twelve different schools so far, and I have lived in about eight different houses. When I live on a military base, change is constant, even if it is not my own family experiencing the orders to move that year. The houses around me fill and empty all the time with new people, and some of the military dominant schools I have been to have the same problem.…
    So it started out as a normal school day and as we were coming back from lunch we all went to the restroom and only six of us got taken. As we were using the restroom Andrew Myers, Jahzara Mckinney, Kadance Gravely, Maddox Lyons, Hayden Elliott, Kaylie Hawks and myself were pulled into the sewers and through a pipe that somehow took us to a island. We were stranded there by ourselves the island was like a forest in a way it has tall redwood trees high grass like the jungle and a beautiful glossering pond. So as we were there we were all panicking then I just got really quiet. We went to bed and the next morning Hayden and Jahzara were fighting over food we had from killing Andrew we had a lot of food left over from yesterday but both Jahzara and Hayden wanted that same piece.…
    The Devon School was once full of life and everyone was happy that is, until I came. The boys really thought they knew who I was but they were completely wrong. This all began at the Devon school I met Gene, Finny, Leper, Brinker, and the other students. At first when I met Gene I was suspicious of him because I felt he was not trustworthy and was conservative. However, I noticed that Finny trusted everyone, including Gene, which he was humble and did not brag about how athletic or cool he was.…
    I do not have a particular stance for or against Calexit, but I am open to considering the movement. I both agree and disagree with Dave Marin’s opinion that California has a better opportunity to start towards the path of secession. Our Constitution, by his explanation, seems to dictate that we can secede, but I see a possibility for another civil war. If this situation comes to a civil war, I do not see California winning by a landslide, unless the state receives aid from Washington and Oregon, and they can create their own country of some Pacific States of America. Of course, it is not as if Calexit was not a movement before with social, economic, and geographic differences from the rest of the country.…
    A Life in the Day of a Jew in Hiding I awake at 6:30 to the terrifying sound of thousands of bombs going off around me and stifle the scream that always seems to rise up in my throat, begging for me to let it out. I wearily crawl out of the warm, cosy bed that has been my refuge for the past 12 hours and enter the realms of reality. I hear the gentle pounding of feet against the floor and know that it must be almost breakfast time. My family and I always eat our breakfast at exactly 7am: it’s when the BBC radio is broadcasted. I listen to the radio with wide open ears: hoping for news of redemption; dreading the news of…
    The theory of climate change has suggested that grim times could happen instantaneously at any moment, An increased amount of “supercat” weather patterns have been increasing steadily, and put our environment at an unstable state(Buell 2013). Comparable to the wave in McGhee’s work, the environment is on the verge of collapsing. The wave is a literal symbol of the crisis, and it is coming straight for us, destroying everything in it’s wake. On the edge of the image is a traffic light, stuck on the color red. The juxtaposition of the wave on the brink, and the symbolism of a need to stop, Mcghee is suggest a need for change before it is too late.…
