Last week the National Academy had the opportunity to visit the Marine Corps Museum and hear a leadership speech from Lieutenant General George Flynn. The visit to the museum was an enlightening experience into the history of the Marine Corps and a tribute to the brave men and women who fought and even paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms that we get to enjoy.
Lieutenant General Flynn’s speech on leadership provided me with some insight into enhancing partnerships within my organization and the community. In his speech Flynn spoke that “it is not about you, it is about the people you serve,” and I believe that is something that is true to every law enforcement officer. I feel that we should never forget the service aspect of our job
