These characters do not all have the same fortunate fate, but Shakespeare does show how their sincerity could have or did help them. This act of favoritism is shown at Antony’s speech where he orated, “To every several man, seventy-five drachmas...And to yours heirs forever---common pleasures”(Shakespeare 133). This not only shows Antony’s support of Caesar, but also how they both stayed true to their words and morals gaining the people back towards their side. Brutus had underestimated how Caesar and Antony’s relationship’s true impact was and how strong it proved to be. In another scene, even after being exiled, both Brutus and Cassius learned to understand the idea of honesty and the importance of it after their conversation at 161 where it read, “In this I bury all unkindness, Cassius… My heart is thirsty for that noble pledge”(Shakespeare 161). This scene had Brutus and Cassius fight, but realization makes them think of how they’re stronger together and they’ll stick with one another again. Main characters such as Brutus and Cassius found themselves in trouble after attempting to deceive the crowd of Caesar's intentions. On the opposing side, Antony without giving into lies and outside distractions has ended up with the upper hand against the conspirators. Not only does Shakespeare present the main characters in this battle of good and bad, but also include side characters like the Soothsayer and Calpurnia. Both these characters attempted to help spread the truth, but also told accurate predictions that could’ve prevented disaster. This could show that Shakespeare wanted to show how honesty is skill to work at which also doesn’t guarantee quick results, but depending on whether someone will use it wisely, will provide benefits rather than taking the shortcut of lying. Throughout people’s lives past and modern, the theme that lying isn’t worth the effort when even though harder, honesty will be more worth it and will keep it’s worth longer has stayed true even now in present
