I have known Lien Trinh for three years, since she was a prestigious president of Vietnamese Student Association – UCO back then. She has worked for Allstate Insurance Company as a licensed sales producer after graduation and it was a coincidence how I contact to her to become my interviewee. I feel impressed how she chose and motivated herself to work in the insurance industry since English is her second language. In my mind, I think I could understand her feeling and valuable experience for working here in the U.S. as internationals challenge themselves in a whole different country, cultures, environment, language and so forth.
Lien friendly started our conversation by introducing briefly herself and her company; she is working in Allstate Insurance Company as an insurance producer to sell and consult customers about home, automobile and business insurance. She described her typical day such as making phone calls to customers and going out to the public to find prospects and advertising herself to let people know that she could help them anything about their insurance. It sometimes challenge me to start a conversation with the others, so that I met various difficulties in learning marketing which mostly focuses on communication between company and consumers. Lien showed me essential skills, experiences and bases knowledge which I should prepare before stepping up to the future career such as knowing you own strengths and weaknesses to enhance or improve them. The most important things that she advised me are “Do not hesitate trying to seek what you do best” and practicing more and more, the more you practice and experience the better you get for yourself. It was a good chance for me to interview Lien and have an insight into sale
