Accreditation teacher-to- child ratio are usually more stringent than those required by licensing. Because licensing relates to minimal standards and accreditation refers to a higher set of standards.
3. Describe the differences between licensing and accreditation. The difference between licensing and accreditation is that licensing is controlled by the government, and accreditation is managed by an organization of professionals. The accreditation standards exceed the licensing’s minimum standards.

The two credentials for early childhood professionals are the child development associate credential and the certified childcare professional credential. The child development associate credential (CDA). Requires you to show skills in six competency goal areas and thirteen functional areas. And the certified childcare professional credential (CCP), is for teaching skills and professionalism for those who do not have a college degree and entering the field from another field.
