My educational plan will continue after finishing my Associates Degree to work further towards a Bachelor’s Degree with the expectation of eventually entering the field of social work. I would like to make the Associates Degree work for me in the meantime by possibly securing an entry level position in some kind of mental health area possibly through the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, or Caring Unlimited, Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence, or possibly a position working in Domestic Violence resource. I would love to shadow a court advocate in order to experience being involved with the victims. Licensed Social Worker (LSW) is the license granted to a baccalaureate social worker who has completed a post-baccalaureate supervised work experience requirement; LSX is the conditional license one works under while one is meeting requirements for LSW. The higher levels require a graduate degree. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is a non-clinical license, granted to master’s degree holders. LMSW-CC is a conditional clinical license, granted to master’s graduates who are doing clinical work under supervision. An LMSW-CC is on a path to the highest level of licensing: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). LCSW is an independent, clinical license” (maine.gov). The pay scale averages from the low end of ______ to the higher end with those who hold a higher degree. For me personally, my age will be a factor that will likely work against me in obtaining employment in my chosen field. But, I will not let that deter me as I know there will be a position that will be a positive fit that will present itself when the time is right! I have a lot to offer in the field of domestic violence having lived through that nightmare life of myself for over thirty years and I look forward to helping others in
