There are many types of consumers within society that utilize products on a daily basis. These people rely on products to beauty one’s self or use products to protect one’s skin to the effects of age and sun damage. A licensed esthetician is a professional who utilizes skilled techniques with the use of cosmetic products for each client. The following sections will describe the importance of understanding the differences between consumer use products and professional use products in association with their regulations in the United States of America. As a licensed esthetician, the federal government regulates many products for the safety of society. These regulations have been founded by extensive research developed and regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. “Food and Drug administration (FDA) authority to oversee food, drug, and cosmetic safety”, (1). This business reassures people Stuart drugs with generic and brand names, given at the right dosage and evaluations can treat people with more pros than cons. Meaning the benefits are higher than the risks. This allows the distribution and use of cosmetic products to be acknowledged as safe with proper use and knowledge base of its use. Professionals, (such as cosmetologist and estheticians) are required by the state of California to have a knowledge base on these particular use and distribution of these products. There are many complications that may arise within the profession of esthetician such as side effects may encounter based on their underlying medical history.
