Lincoln deserving the proper consequences encompasses him being thrown out of office, as for one, he is breaking the system of checks and balances. In addition, he is denying amendment rights to citizens, as he suspended the habeas corpus (History of the Federal Judiciary). In doing so, many unfair cases have taken place where someone who needed the habeas corpus was unrightfully deprived of this entitlement.
