Liberty Rockhold: A Short Story

That’s right, I said it! If you read the title, then you would know that I, Liberty Rockhold, just called Illinois the worst state ever! Now I could start listing the reasons why, no capital punishment, taxes, and Chicago are only a few, but I’ll save you the time. Instead, I’m just going to talk about the first part of the title, the move. Me ranting over why Illinois is a horrible state, or me telling the story of when I moved to this horrid state. I’d chose the latter if I was you.
I was just under five years old when we moved away from Kansas, and trust me, I remember it vividly. At the time we lived in Leavenworth, Kansas. You see Leavenworth was special. It’s known as the oldest state in Kansas. Leavenworth wasn’t particularly big, nor was it small. There was even a few crosswalks with timers and everything! In Leavenworth, I was queen! My family lives in Iowa and you have no idea how far a drive from Iowa to Kansas is until you take one yourself. Even though I didn’t want to leave Kansas, some part of me was excited for an adventure. I just thought the adventure would be temporary. When my mother asked, “Anything that has to be special about our new house?” I had only one request.
