I was just under five years old when we moved away from Kansas, and trust me, I remember it vividly. At the time we lived in Leavenworth, Kansas. You see Leavenworth was special. My family lives in Iowa and you have no idea how far a drive from Iowa to Kansas is until you take one yourself. Even though I didn’t want to leave Kansas, some part of me was excited for an adventure. I just thought the adventure would be temporary. When my mother asked, “Anything that has to be special about our new house?” I had only one request.
