They have elected Donald Trump as president and Mike Pence as vice president. Healthcare, immigration, and gun control are three main issues to the candidate. Donald Trump strongly believes that the Affordable Care Act is an economic burden and a new healthcare reform is needed to make it better and more affordable, the nation needs to support its citizens by creating a wall across the border of Mexico to limit immigration, and the second amendment gives every American citizen the privilege to keep and bear arms. Trump’s stance on healthcare is firm, and based off of the GOP website, understandable. However, I personally didn’t notice the impact of the Affordable Care Act and can’t say I feel strongly toward the issue, but that’s due to my own lack of research. I disagree strongly with his stance towards immigration and find his opinions toward illegal immigrants dismissive and racist. They have elected Jill Stein for president and Ajamu Baraka as vice president. Renewable and clean energy, education reform, and social justice are this candidate’s primary concerns. Stein wants to reduce energy consumption nationwide and invest in green energy, end Common Core and standardized testing to create a new education system, and end excessive government surveillance and end programs such as indefinite detention and Guantanamo Bay. I definitely agree with her stance on improving energy usage and making alternative energy sources commonplace, these are important changes that could aid the environment. I do think the concept of education reform like she proposed is a good idea, but I don’t know enough about other potential systems to say whether or not it’s a priority to me. I agree with her on the abolishment of various unethical programs, and I think this is an issue that other politicians need to prioritize as part of making the United States a more humane place to
