Libertarian View On Abortion Essay

Libertarian’s View on Abortion
I think Harry Browne spoke of libertarians the best, “abortion is a sensitive issue on which reasonable people can differ”(“The Libertarian stand on abortion,”Dec. 21,1998). The statement for Mr. Browne sums up libertarian’s view on abortion well. Libertarians are not going to tell you whether it is totally right or wrong to have an abortion. They will offer hope to people on either side of the issue. The only thing from research that I really found out from Mr. Browne is that they seem very against anything with the government.
Abortion is one of the top political issues, but it really has nothing to do with the government. I agree with liberals that the government cannot control the citizens of the United States, because this is not a dictatorship. If you are worried about abortion you need to take another look at China, women and the government kill baby girls all the time (“200 Million Girls Killed in China, Where Are the Feminists?,” 2012). We are a very lucky generation growing in the United States. There are no real fascists that control us. Liberals are right in a way, the government of the United States

I would give that a 50/50. We should not turn to government to solve the problem on abortion, but I do not think that abortion makes government the problem. That is like changing the subject in a conversation. Government is not the problem; the ill education of the people is the problem. Libertarians “believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility on all issues at all times” (“The Libertarian stand on abortion,” Dec. 21, 1998). So, we should educate the people on what abortion really is and the dangers that comes with it. If we agree that everybody should be personally responsible for what they do a Christian education might not be a bad start to teach someone to be responsible for the killing of a

Liberty Counsel lays out its important message of teaching about alternatives to abortion, and protecting women’s rights when it comes to education about preserving life, “Liberty Counsel works aggressively to restore the culture of life. We protect the rights of women to learn the truth about abortion alternatives” (Liberty Counsel, 1995). Liberty Counsel launched a website called LifeUnited, which seeks to educate women and others about how to preserve life, provide legal assistance to others striving to protect the lives of the unborn, and come together with other groups to see abortion in America come to an end (Liberty Counsel, 1995). While Liberty Counsel helps to preserve the agendas of religious freedom and life sanctity, it also aims to advance and protect traditional marriage and…

Therefore, the everlasting debate between Democrats and Republicans over abortion inspires women to continue fighting for their freedom to choose and receive care free of restrictions. Perhaps the most important thing to remember in the mist of this chaos is that women reproductive rights are first and for most about women and should ultimately benefit women, not the corrupt politicians in the government or the bigot in power. Maybe Republicans and Donald Trump should take “women’s rights are human rights” more…

Whether it’s due to financial instability, the quality of life of the potential child, or rape resulting in pregnancy, women need to be able to make the choice to save their own lives. Those who are against abortion may feel they are “saving” the life of the unborn child, but many do not realize they are impairing, or even ruining, the life of the pregnant woman. It is the legal right of every woman to decide what is best in her life, her family, and her situation; America needs to realize that it must remain this…

In the game of politics, social issues are used to emotionally influence an individual to secure votes. Within the complex debate, facts and logic are overshadowed by the emotional response from the individual. The worst social issue to exchange opinions on is abortion. The two opposing viewpoints clash into an ugly argument that accomplishes nothing. When it comes to the discussion and the fundamentals of this subject, the two largest American political parties and their platforms clearly state what side of the issue they are on.…

Texas Abortion Laws Issues/Problems An abortion is a medical or surgical procedure that ends a pregnancy. A woman’s right to an abortion is a very debated and controversial topic that happens all around the world. There are those who are opposed to abortions, pro-life, and those who don’t necessarily have a problem with a woman making the decision to terminate her pregnancy, pro-choice. In 1868, thirty-six states had laws prohibiting abortions at any stage of a woman’s pregnancy, Texas being one of the thirty-six states.…

Government Defunding of Planned Parenthood Abortions “As a nation, we gamble with the lives of those who do not yet have a voice to defend themselves for the sake of allowing women to escape the consequences of their previous decisions by removing every possible future decision from the children dependent on their bodies for growth and development” (Waltman). Everyday Planned Parenthood performs abortions funded by the government. The government funding of abortions needs to stop. With the government funding these abortions, it now allows them to escape their consequences and literally not have to pay for it.…

Abortion Rights American society is divided over the issue of abortion, the induced termination of a pregnancy. The American people are split between the facts of whether or not the government has an obligation to protect unborn children. Two extremes define people’s stance on abortion: pro-life and pro-choice, the belief that women should not terminate pregnancies and that women have the rights to decide, respectively. This is an essential argument because individual rights are the foundation of American culture. Medical dangers, the origin of human life, and women’s rights all support individual choice; therefore, the American government has no responsibility, moral or legal, to condemn abortion.…

Tom Anderson says, “Women should have the right to safe and legal abortions because it ensures them full responsibility and free participation in society.” Agreeing with Anderson, M. Lee and Nancy Sprague says not only should abortions be allowed but they should be a constitutional right. Brian Wilson disagreed and said, “Abortions should be outlawed because they are taking the lives of unborn children,” in addition to agreeing with him Lynn-nore Chittom and Heather Newton they are trying to get the supreme court to overturn the Roe v. Wade case. In a way I agree with both sides for different reasons because they both have their pros and cons. If abortion remains legal I think more and more women will become pregnant and feel a since of not having to be responsible.…

Mark Ruffalo once said, “There was no mistake in us making abortion legal and available on demand. That was what we call progress. Just like it was no mistake that we abolished institutional racism in this country around the same time.” We have came a long way since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade court case which ruled abortions legal, but there is still a lot of nationwide discourse on the subject. America as a country made the vote to legalize abortion more than four decades ago for many reasons such as overpopulation, the mother's well being, and for the fact that the decision should be left to woman carrying the child.…
