Take, for example, a massive win in the eyes of Democrats everywhere; the legalization of gay marriage throughout the United States. Support of same-sex marriage among the Baby Boomer generation, at its highest, has only ever been at 47%, while the highest Millennial support has been at 73% (Masci, refer to fig. 1). The topic of the LGBT community as a whole has been a sensitive topic in recent years, especially within politics. The Democratic party has a historical support of equal rights for gays, while Republicans aren’t as accepting. However, there has been a takeover of Liberals, especially college-aged, in the media that people get most of their information from. From the rise of modern liberalism in the 60s, to the bias within the universities that have become echo chambers, to even the halls of Congress and Senate, the amount of traction gained by this group is astonishing. Despite the recent win of President Trump, they’re still some of the loudest voices heard in America at the moment, with the Women’s March, the He Will Not Divide Us rally, and other protests.
