Lhamo Dondrub Research Paper

This paper is about the life and teachings of Lhamo Dondrub. Lhamo Dondrub was born in Takster, China on July 6th, 1935. His mother’s name is Diki Tsering and his father is Choekyong Tsering. Lhamo has five siblings, Jetsun Pema, Gyalo Thondup, Thubten Jigme Norbu,Lobsang Samten, and Dolma Tsering. When he was two years old he was picked as the rebirth of the 13th Dalai Lama. He was chosen because he was born the closest to the day the previous Dalai Lama died. They also put out toys owned by the Dalai Lama and mixed in some random toys. If Lhamo found all of the toys owned by the Dalai Lama he was to be chosen. Lhamo found all the toys yelling “It’s Mine, It’s Mine!”

After he was chosen Lhamo was sent to school to learn Tibetan Buddhism. He was taught by the Yellow Hats which are the same as monks just a different religion. On November 17th, 1950 Lhamo became Dalai Lama. When he was 15 he was old enough to be the 14th Dalai Lama. …show more content…
