I consider important to address this issue regarding Gays and other targets of stigma since I have been exposed to two completely different societies and cultures. One from my country El Salvador, and the one I find in the United States. It is an issue that in the last decades has had a lot of controversy in both societies, especially in my country. In the US, the LGBT community is much more accepted. They are a united front and have fought to gain their rights. However, this is not the case in Latin American countries.
