With her projects like projects like CSJP and Brotherhood Inc., she is creating an interconnected society for those who are can’t get the representation they want. Forever, less privileged people have been considered “pawns on a chessboard”, pieces of society that are overlooked and underrepresented (Hallan Farah). Though, Levy-Pounds is a solid leader that sees a lot more in these people. Levy-Pounds has created both CSJP and Brotherhood Inc., that specialize in “enabling African-American youth…to envision and achieve success” while also trying to reach out to “make connections” (Hallan Farah). This leads to positivity in all aspects for the community of Minneapolis, as people who normally wouldn't get the opportunity to get an education in law, will get the opportunity to go away, get an education, and eventually come back to have an influence on Minneapolis. People who have been left out the sweeping gentrification have been slowly interconnected themselves. They need to be in order to catch up with those who continually try to leave them out of the communal issues, the way these people share the strife to overcome privilege is the way the are able to become “queens” of the chessboard, instead of only being able to move in one direction, they are able to move in any direction they
