The specific qualities of a leader have always been in question in determining if an individual has the characteristics of a great leader. From the early 1840’s with the Great Man Theory to today with Charismatic Theory, leadership styles are constantly being analyzed and formulated to fit in the current context of leadership. Merriam – Webster describes leadership as the power or ability to lead other people in a group, organization, or situation (Leadership, 2015, p.1). Personal leadership / management style analysis During my first few weeks in the field experience course, I have noticed the complexity of leadership and management that is involved in the work field. Both, a leader and a manager are very important people in an organization. According to Collins (2001), managers and leaders “exist in different forms, roles and responsibilities”; as a result, Five Level Hierarchy exists, where level one has highly capable individuals, two is contributing team member, three is competent manager, four is an effective leader, and finally five is an executive. A great leader must be an effective communicator in order to lead a group of people in order to accomplish a goal or vision.…

In every good film, there is an introduction, a rising action, a climax, a falling action, and a conclusion. These are basic staples when it comes to writing and creating a film. But when it comes to the characters in a film, there are some other staples as well. One of these such staples is that there needs to be a solid leader in the film, one who can keep the story moving or put the main character back on track. In Lee Daniel’s “The Butler”, however, we see multiple leaders over the course of the movie, all showing different tactics of leadership that are stated in Barry Posner and James Kouzes’ book “The Leadership Challenge”.…

Servant Orientation Another element or characteristic of a Pauline leadership theory includes an orientation toward service. In his letter to the Romans, Paul calls himself “a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle […](Romans 1;1), while indicating that he is “obligated” (Romans 1:14) to those he has been called to share the Gospel. This is unmistakably an element of Paul’s own perspective of his role as an apostle, and as a servant of Christ. This duality of mission and obligation to those who are in need of the Gospel define his orientation toward service.…
