Thank you for reading this letter on Servite, home of the Friars. We are an all boys college prep Catholic high school located in Anaheim, California. Servite is a great place to go if you want to succeed further in life and make great friends while doing so. Our campus is in need of expediential growth because of the larger amount of students we receive every year. Servite is primarily known for its outstand academics, disciplined sports teams, and particularly strong faith.
Servite was created in 1958 under the Friar order and was originally intended to function as military school. Servite does follow the model of the Naval Academy located in Annapolis, Maryland. The idea began to fade, as it was becoming more and more irrelevant to the

On September 20th, the day of our picnic, God gave us a beautiful day filled with plenty of sunshine and cool breezes. So many of our brothers and sisters from other fraternity’s took part in our annual picnic and shared in Franciscan companionship. As I looked around the grounds of the friary and saw our Franciscan Charism flowing among those in attendance, I thought to myself this is what our Charism is all about, sharing, loving, caring, allowing the Holy Spirit to move in us and through others. Thanks to all for the wonderful job in pulling this picnic together.…

Timothew Dexter says, “An ungrateful man is like a hog under a tree eating acorn, but never looking up to see where they come from”. I will be ungrateful, if I failed to express my gratitude to you for your generosity in founding the Community College Petrochemical Initiative scholarship. I am extremely honored to be one of this year’s recipients of the award. I never thought I had the worth of receiving such an honor, but I think going the extra mile to achieve the best is something worth…

Dear J. Madison, I have the utmost respect for you, but something has been puzzling me lately, I simply cannot comprehend why you oppose the Connecticut Compromise so deeply. I despise that we are in an argument about the ways our government should work. The Constitution would not have been as grand as it is if not for you, however your Virginia Plan does not represent smaller states, such as my home in Connecticut, New Jersey, and many other states are in agreement. My idea is a compromise, which involves each state, it includes bicameral legislature, with one part proportional representation and the other half involving each state having one representative. I know you are a busy man, but I hope that you will consider voting for the good of…

Our Lady of the Lake College is a Catholic institution that was created in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, who firmly believed that all of creation spoke volumes of God’s love for us. St. Francis was raised in a fairly wealthy family, and it was not until he was captured at battle for two years, that he decided to embark on the glorious journey of knowing Jesus Christ. He began preaching to word of God, and embraced others that were not of his kind. Students who attend Our Lady of the Lake College should be of the same example to others throughout their academic careers. As Franciscans, We live by five core values that are service, reverence and love for all of life, joyfulness of spirit, humility, and justice.…

Adrenaline rushed through my tensed body as though I inched toward the edge of a cliff ready to jump off. Governor Hutchinson just rejected our plea to send the Dartmouth back to England, and everyone in Boston couldn’t take much more of England’s petty games of taxation and their seemingly unlimited power over the colonies. Once the governor’s answer came to everyone at the Old South Meetinghouse, I think we all felt something needed to be done to send a message to England that we had enough (Brooks). Being a part of the Sons of Liberty, I knew a plan was being devised no matter the outcome of the Dartmouth situation. We could hear the Dartmouth bellow while coming in to dock, and far off in the distance could be heard the Beaver and the Eleanor.…

n this undated letter, written at the request of Jeremy Belknap, corresponding secretary of the Massachusetts Historical Society, Paul Revere summarizes his activities on 18-19 April 1775: he recounts how Dr. Joseph Warren urged him to ride to Lexington (to warn John Hancock and Samuel Adams of British troop movements); how he had previously arranged with some fellow Patriots to signal the direction of those movements by placing signal lanterns in the steeple of Old North Church; and how he left Boston from the "North part of the Town," was rowed across the Charles River by two friends, and there borrowed a horse and began his ride. The manuscript letter includes some interlineations, apparently in the hand of Jeremy Belknap. In printing the account in Collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society, 1st series, vol. 5 (1798), Belknap assigned to it the date of 1 January 1798. At the end of the document, Revere signed his name but then, apparently choosing to remain anonymous, wrote…

Killen DeBeers article talks about how experiences, feelings, thoughts and beliefs ignite images and insight as we reflect and embrace on our journey through life (1994). Being brought up in a Catholic community and school system has built my moral foundation, beliefs and values that I wish to share with others through my teaching practice. The Catholic school system is a compassionate, caring and supportive environment with the idea of a family community. The community becomes your family as the Catholic school system welcomes diversity and teaches individuals to love, respect and treat everyone and everything as you wish to be treated, as we are all brothers and sisters and children of God. I want to be able to teach and share these amazing teachings in all my classrooms.…

    Letter To Daddy

The poem “A Letter to Daddy” is written in a letter format, composed by a faithful son with a kind heart that yearns to see his father again. The boy describes how well he is currently living in the Scout camp during the Holocaust. The tone of the story consistently stays happy, despite the unfortunate fate he’s most likely headed to, along with his mother. Although the way the boy writes to his father remains strong and positive, it still made me feel downcast. Jewish people were treated as an outcast to society, and the boy was so appreciative of what he has, even through this dreadful experience.…

The job of a principal in any academic setting is a monumental task as students, curriculum, parents, teachers, faculty, legal issues, etc., all vie for guidance and attention. But I believe that the job of a Catholic school leader entails far more because I believe the profession of Catholic school leader is a vocation rooted in Christ. My role as a Catholic school principal is one of managerial leader, educational leader and most importantly as spiritual leader. It is my job to nurture a faith community that is built with relational trust and where my school can be transformed into a sacred place (Sergiovanni, 2015, p.12).…
