We had a very nice meeting this week. You have been working in reading your assignments, and so far, you are enjoying your classes. I have attached an Excel document, in which you can see your grades. Let me know if you have questions about this document.…
After lots of research I decided that we shouldn’t have the same classes 5 days a week and that some classes we don’t need as many years as we get. What I figured out is that we shouldn't have the same classes all 5 days each week but should instead change it up like they do in college. Colleges have found this helps lighten the homework load and make students feel better about it. After I thought of this I also thought do Chem, History, Gym, English, Math, and a foreign language really need as much time as we put into it. After I did lot of research I learned that the majority such as math and history don't and that they should actually have more of gym and some music classes…
It has come to my knowledge that there is a limited amount of spots in the ENG 102 class for next semester. I am one of the best candidates to continue into ENG 102 and thrive in Ms. Laduca’s learning environment. Although I do not fear that I have not already earned my spot, I will proceed to justify my case. I have been an adroit student of Ms. LaDuca’s for the last year and a half; she knows exactly what kind of student I am. Since seventh grade, I have been an ebullient honors student in the top ten percent of the 2016 cohort and have not received any grades lower than an A. I always exceed expectations, put in 110% of my effort, and achieve and maintain excellent grades at the same time.…
In “ The Dog ate my disk, and other tales of woe”, Prof. Carolyn Foster humorously discusses the many types of excuses given to her by her college students for missing deadlines, Do you see Prof. Carolyn Foster as rigid and unsympathetic, or do you think her frustration is justified? Do you think that her students are irresponsible procrastinators or simply over-worked? The truth is, there is very little of students who wants to do their work. That being said, an abundance of students will procrastinate and give up.…
Do you ever wonder why we switch classes for school for other classes? Well in my opinion this is useless and even causes a problem for students like all of us. We waste more time switching and talking to our friends then learning. We do not create a bond with our teachers, and teachers don't have the freedom when they switch. Have you ever talked in the hallway while trying to switch well this is more of a time waster then a time user.…
A counter argument may be that non-LD students are classified as LD, but in actuality are just are lazy and do not put forth an effort. That is not always the case. It has been proven that this is not true. There was a research where LD students that were recognized by the school as LD were compared to non-LD students who were not recognized. Although the scores were similar, forty percent of the students had a possibility of being classified incorrectly.…
I am Jacob Murphy from your ENGL 0960-44 class that meets every Monday and Wednesday from 10:30-11:45. I am emailing you to talk about my participation grade and hope to influence so I receive a higher grade. I believe my participation grade should be an A and I hope you believe so too because of multiple reasons.…
Citizens are forced against their will to do exercise. He claims that we need to get "in shape", making us do workouts while he sits and does nothing. We do this labor, and are punished if we object against this idea. We are forced to pay for iPads as a requirement for the school. Yet, we can barely ever use them because of the lack of proper wifi.…
The telling of stories is the original teaching method. Stories were told in order to pass down information from generation to generation. Our ancestors did this by either word of mouth or the use of drawings, such as cave paintings. These were used to tell stories of great hunts, or to help describe certain animals, and to teach their children certain skills and how to survive in the wild. Storytelling has evolved since these simple cave drawings were used.…
Homework: schoolwork that a student is required to do at home. When they hear it, some collapse over stress, while others stand tall. Homework is a life changer for all students. It can help them think better or it can be a hindrance to them from achieving academic success. Is homework worth it?…
I was born a long while ago on a cold Monday morning in February. Since that fateful day, I have never stopped going. Through rushing around, joining one club or another, I never had the time to sit and relax or to sleep for the recommended eight hours a night. This hectic life of mine did not pick up until last year. There were three a.m. nights, nine p.m. school days, and never any time to do homework or to think about where I was going next.…
MagnetMom complains about how her daughter’s homework takes away her beneficial sleep. With busy families, like hers, they have many after school activities, so when they get home, they do not have time for too much homework. She says that the reality of it is that they are an active family. For active families, homework causes sleep deprivation and takes away the children’s energy they need for the next day. (“How Homework Affects Families”, pg. 1).…
According to BBC news, wake up for school too early will affect the student’ learning and health, it also can cause sleep deprivation. Most parents would like their kids’ school to start late and ends later. Teenagers wants their high school classes to start late and ends later because they would have enough sleep, have time to eat, have more energy, and so their brain can be more functional. For students, high school classes should start later and end later in the day because they would have more time to sleep in. They usually have homework from most of their classes and that sometimes can be frustrated because they don’t really have that much time to accomplish it; plus, homework from other classes could takes up to one or two hours, depends on the class they’re taking.…
I took two classes for the summer of 2016, but the Interpersonal Communication class had me worried the most. I had a training with the army, and that required me to absence from school for two weeks. Unlike my other class, I didn’t have a chance to work ahead of the class with the instructor for the two weeks that I would be missing. Therefore, I was worried that I wouldn’t catch up with my classmates and end up failing the class. However, Ms. Anna was generous and extended the assignment due date for me; she even gave me an extra-credit assignment to replace the credits that I missed during my two weeks in training.…
Nobody likes homework. It is tiring and tedious to many students. Homework is typically given in large or excessive amounts. After school, students have a very limited time to finish all of their work, since they have many other things to do besides homework. Not only is homework tiring, but it can also give the student many unwanted problems.…
