Receiving Salvation
The letter to the Romans, or shortened as Romans, is one of the New Testament books. It is a long letter, written by Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ; it tells of God’s plan of salvation through faith. Paul sent the letter to communicate with the Romans and tell them that faith began with the Jewish people who were saved by obeying the laws in the Old Testament. After Jesus came, believing in Him is what would save them. In Romans 10, Paul states that people receive salvation by faith in Jesus through trusting His death as the payment for humans’ sins, accepting Him as Lord, and through living faith.
People receive salvation by trusting in what Jesus did for humans on the cross. Paul writes in his letter that if you “believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom. 10:9). According to the Bible, sin is real because man has sinned, and the result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God (Rom. 6:23). However, God loves the world and gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as a substitute for a penalty of all human sinners (Christian Doctrine).
