Letter To Mother's Day Scholarship

Improved Essays
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my gratitude or your incredibly generous support. Through the Mother's Day Scholarship, you have improved my college experience tenfold. I will no longer have to worry how I will pay my tuition next semester, when TAP runs out.

As a child, my grandparents would always tell me that anything is possible with an education. As it turns out, they were right. College has been such an eye opening experience. I have been presented with so many amazing opprotunies. It was in my first year of college, when I discovered my love for politics, and developed a desire to one day run for public office. I believe that elected officials are in a unique position to affect positive change in society.

It is not until Rebecca Nathans works in her book My Freshman Year that we have the adult challenging the prejudiced views non-students have on these young adults.…

I’ve always been a firm believer that college is what you make out of it. Me being 18 and just starting college I finally see how the world really is, it’s as if a cup of hot water had been thrown in my direction randomly, in other words I wasn’t ready. High school was a cake walk for everyone including myself simply because there wasn’t a huge amount of money over your head after you got your diploma. Just the thought of having a debt makes me cringe and it pushes me to use the time and the opportunity I have much smarter. College is one big investment in yourself and it makes me believe that I can accomplish more than I thought I could just a few months ago.…

In today’s society, many students attend college for a variety of reasons. Some attend because they are passionate about something that interests them and have the desire to extend their education. On the other hand, some students also attend college because they are told to by their parents or relatives. This is a much extended topic due to many different opinions. I do not necessarily believe students who do not want to attend college should attend.…
