Letter To Hector

Decent Essays
I am Hector’s first period keyboarding teacher, as we are moving towards the end of the first nine weeks I am writing this letter to inform you that Hector has been doing an awesome job in class! He finishes all his assignments and turns in all work on time. Hector is great at helping the students around him if they need any help as well.

Hector is also a great member in FBLA. At the fall conference on October 6, 2015 Hector showed a great representation of Yerger Middle School in both his behavior and conduct.

I look forward to having Hector in class for the rest of the year!

Quote 1 “What’s really incomprehensible, she adds, are middle-class or wealthy working mothers in the United States. These women, she says, could tighten their belts, stay at home, spend all their time with their children. Instead, they devote most of their waking hours and energy to careers, with little left for the children. Why, she asks, with disbelief on her face, would anyone do that?”(Prologue xi).”…

“Mnulloloved good frond homy buronor…” That’s what I made out from the first line of the letter Sebastian Brandt wrote to Henry Hovener describing life in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1622. The writer’s main point was that living in a colony in the New World was very difficult and that the colonists needed more supplies, such as beds, linen, sheets, and shoes. His letter seems to be trustworthy, since it took much difficulty to survive in America at the time and the settlers needed more supplies. The intended audience is clearly Henry Hovener, since the letter was written for him.…

A Cry for Help An indentured servant named Richard Frethorne, from the Virginia plantation Martin’s Hundred, wrote letters to his mother and father begging them to “redeem” his indenture.1 The letter written by Frethorne opened up his parents eyes and the eyes of other Englishmen to the unforsaken truth about indentured servants, the conditions they were living in, and what hardships America was going through (e.g. disease, starvation, and death.) Frethorne wrote his parents a letter in hopes of revoking his indenture and returning home to England. If the Frethorne family were unable to do that, alternatively, selling meals with “good folk” or sending him food to sell in America to pay back his indenture.…

Writing was not a subject that held my interest in high school. Deciding to further my education I enrolled in Daytona State College and my first class was your ENC 1101. I have seen a change in my pre-class writing style; I have honed my skills, and the different techniques I have learned while taking this course have only improved my writing style.…

Hello Socrates, it is my pleasure to finally meet you. We have traveled far and wide to finally be in your presence. Meeting you, and being able to hear your teachings has been a dream of mine. Today, not only are we glad to be in your presence, but we would like to discuss with you what was meant when you said, “To fear death, is nothing else but to believe ourselves to be wise, when we are not; and to fancy that we know what we do not know. In effect, nobody knows death; nobody can tell, but it may be the greatest benefit of mankind; and yet men are afraid of it, as if they knew certainly that it were the greatest of evils….…

With every new class I have ever taken, came new experiences, new knowledge, and self improvement. Which have all made me into a better student and molded me as a person. Not all classes do this to every student it consist of the student’s willingness to learn, and the teacher’s interest in their students learning. In English 1302, I have improved my analyzing skills, my communication skills, and I am working on correct grammar. One of my favorite assignments from this semester that really helped me refresh and improve my analyzing skills was the song/poem essay.…

The image of heroes has changed numerous times throughout history. The epic hero became popularized by epic poems in which an individual embarked on treacherous quests and illustrated desirable traits through their actions. Recently, the modern hero has gained acceptance. This hero displays courage, selflessness, and does the right thing without need for praise or compensation. In The Iliad by Homer, many heroes arise on the battlefield due to their gallant acts on both sides.…
