Letter To Get Boid Of Chocolate Milk

Decent Essays
Dear Mrs. Galletti,

I have heard that our school may be getting rid of chocolate milk. I am firmly agree with this. I am for because it causes cavities, bad for health ,and too much sugar.

A big reason why kids should not drink this soda in disguise is because of sugar. Sugar can lead to heart disease. Also, when I think about this, I really just want to turn into God and force everyone to stop drinking chocolate milk because of the sugar that’s in this drink.Another reason why drinking this smooth, creamy, and chocolatey drink is bad because it can cause health problems which can turn really bad. There are bunch of health problems that sugar can cause like obesity, cancer, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Seriously, thinking about all of these make me just want to stop consuming so much sugar. There is a famous food lover and activist, Jamie Oliver, who filled up a normal school bus with 56 TONS of sand and said,” This is how much sugar kids are consuming a week if they drink chocolate milk and there are bunch of other diseases that they can get if they drink chocolate milk. This is a pointer, try to stay away from that soda in disguise.”Cigarettes and chocolate milk These are just a couple of my cravings Everything it seems I like's a little bit stronger A little bit thicker A little bit harmful for me.This quote was written by Rufus Wainwright.

My last is reason is pretty shocking thing to hear, drinking chocolate milk gives unnecessary calories and sugar. Also, if you have diabetes, or a diabetes-related condition, the extra sugar will increase your blood sugar and your triglycerides , which is a risk factor

Galletti, it is very important to consider all the data before making this decision. I strongly believe that after careful consideration, you will agree that chocolate milk must (be stay in our school/ be eliminated from our school menu.) Thank you for considering my position.

Sincerely,
Karthikram

According to the American Heart Association, drinking just one bottle of soda puts one over the recommended daily limit of sugar (Bittman). Unfortunately, many soda consumers will drink more than one soda per day, further putting their health at risk from the large intake of sugar. In a meta-analysis, soda consumption intake was associated with an increase in weight and a lower intake of milk, calcium and other key nutrients. This ultimately places one at risk for several medical problems such as diabetes (Vartanian). The high glycemic load from the sugar in soda increases the insulin resistance of cells, therefore increasing the risk for diabetes (Brownell).…

Would restricting the foods served in cafeterias benefit our students? “The great majority of US secondary schools sell items a la carte in the cafeteria and through vending machines ....commonly referred to as junk food’’ (Pediatrics). Because of evidence that children and teenagers have become more and more obese over the years and that they are not receiving the proper nutrients, certain countries and/or states (provinces) have considered placing restrictions on the foods served at their schools. The government should impose restrictions on the foods served in school cafeterias because the food currently served does not meet certain nutritional standards, the sugars and unhealthy substances can cause temporary or permanent illnesses, and…

“Instead of banning particular food and drinks, schools should focus on teaching students to lead active, healthy lives - offering classes on healthy cooking, or gym classes that make it fun to be active. Removing unhealthy choices is no way to teach students how to make healthy ones.” I agree with this statement because it is not the choice of the schools to try and force the children to stop eating candy and drinking soda. It is one’s decision to stop and change what they eat. If schools think we should start eating healthy, then they shouldn’t serve the students' food that contain a lot of grease and fattening products.…
