World War II is frequently labeled the ‘Good War,’ as it is characterized as one of the few wars in history that is justified by a majority of the world. Throughout the entirety of the war, the Allied forces worked to defeat the nefarious Axis powers. Young servicemen in America risked their lives in battle, and while they are respected for their work, few people understand the brutality they endure. The Boys’ Crusades argues that the brutality of war must be understood by the public, and as a result of the harshness of combat, World War II cannot be classified as the ‘Good War.’…

The Bertuli Story It is known that passing stories down from one family member to another keeps the memories alive. The same can be said for those who have served in our military. Getting personal information from someone who has experienced that part of life can be so important in keeping those memories, both good and not-so-good alive. In interviewing Mr. Leonard Bertuli, a United States Marine from Mark, IL, my partner Seth Carlson and I learned more about his life before entering military, his experiences while in the military, specifically during those taking place during the Vietnam war.…

Perceived seriousness according to Godfrey et al “refers to the beliefs a person holds concerning the effects a given disease or condition would have on one 's state of affairs … and the difficulties that a disease would create” (Godfrey et al, unknown). Like the Proclamation of 1763, we were living on the Appalachian Mountains, but you wanted to give it to some natives to save your own skin. That’s why you shouldn’t have fought in the French & Indian war that also caused us to lose the land of the Appalachian Mountains.…

Everyone is trying to tell me to leave before I die, but I have already made up my mind. I have decided to stay and fight for my soon-to-be country because the men are dying, General Washington is getting support from congress to fight in the war and survive during winter, and I don’t want to be a slave in my own country. I told the men at Valley Forge that I was re-enlisting for three main reasons. The first being that we cannot win a war if we do not have any men. Over half the men are sick and dying and we need healthy men( Doc A).…
