Letter To Elim Prayer Ministry

Improved Essays
I'm Michael, currently on mission in Atlanta, Ga. I serve God in is the Elim prayer ministry.
In my youth, I hated prayer. My Grandmother, who raised me, was and still is a Christian. She prayed her hardest to raise me right. She often said, “put it in God’s hands” during hardships. I listened, but when things didn't change, I was disappointed and suffering more.
Fast forward to me finally coming to God, after many bible studies, I went to Elim’s HQ. I interned, then ventured out into the mission field of Raleigh, NC.
My dream is to be equipped with God’s word and his love to teach it. I want to teach children it as I know the pains one is on course for if they don’t know God growing up. But all in all, I want to be ready to take care of God’s lambs no matter if they are young or old.

My Study Plan (10 pts) Specify your detailed study plan for all assignments and tests.
I’m joining the class late, so I am catching up with everything, but as of next week I will follow the proposed regular schedule for all other events. I feel it's a good template. It isn’t vague so it gives me a feeling of security. I am going to use it as a road-map to succeed. I will combine this with a very early time of prayer and try to tackle my work early in the morning before I go to church for all my mission works.
I plan to memorize 3- 4 verses a day instead of the 2. I will memorize 3 verses a day for 45 minutes to an hour( including 10 minutes of prayer)
Example:
2 Timothy 3:16; John 1:1; Hebrews 4:12; Mon
Isaiah 46:10-11; Romans 10:17; Isaiah 40:8; Tues
Luke 21:33; Psalm 1:1-3; Romans 1:16;

    The first stop on that path was Bible College. At the age of 20 she enrolled in Philadelphia College of Bible. During college her mind stayed focused on the “group of brown-skinned people in a jungle.” After she graduated she applied to be a missionary, but was turned down because of her weak back. She was angry about that decision, until she thought that maybe the reason that she was declined was because God was still preparing her people for her.…

    What better way to draw near and learn about my Heavenly Father, than to forge a relationship with His Son. I have not yet read through all of the Gospels, but have studied them on and off over the last seven years. Therefore, for this particular stepping stone on my journey, I plan to work my way through the Gospels, and spend time with my Savior. Throughout these times, I foresee myself engaging in prayer, reading scripture, doing some self-examination, journaling, and/or silently sitting in His presence.…

    She has taught me much about how having a relationship with God can have such a major impact upon the outlook of life while going through difficulties. Elyn had an incredibly difficult time surviving the beginning stages of her disease because of all the changes that continually occurred. If only she had been given an introduction to Jesus, our Savior, she would have had a friendship that would never change or ever go away. Isaiah 41:10 says “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”…

    For 9 months now I've come to terms with my own new atheism; the world feels brand new. I have a thousand rose-colored memories of my childhood church, but all nostalgic aesthetics aside, I can't help but acknowledge the negativity I experienced as a Christian. Suppression of my curiosity and my passion for humanism was routine, as my church seemed to consistently devalue and demonize human nature. When I was younger, I'd ask God to grant me everything I felt I couldn't attain myself: intelligence, financial comfort, consistent sobriety for my mother- essentially freedom from all difficulty. I felt I had no power over these things in my life and that I needed God to fix them up for me.…

    Hope In The Old Testament

    • 3 Pages

    In Christianity, the foundations of hope and prayer are created through biblical theology and full surrender. Hope requires the believer to be an active, but patient, participant in their environment all the while living for the glory of God. Prayer affirms the believer’s conviction towards communicating with God. “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12, English Standard Version). Therefore, both hope and prayer are mutually inclusive as one cannot happen without the other through theological, biblical and practical applications.…
