Since my first semester at Brandeis, I wanted to partake in as many clubs and beneficial experiences as possible. My schedule was quite hectic but I enjoyed all the clubs and volunteer work I was a part of, however, this took a toll on my first semester grades. As a means to avoid the same predicament I chose to enroll in classes once I returned to Brandeis and not during the fall semester as I would be able to adequately accommodate clubs and other opportunities into my schedule without it having an effect on my academics. Unfortunately, that is a decision I quickly regretted.
Due to pending funds directed towards my room and board from my foster care agency I had a hold placed on my sage account that was not removed until the day before the add/drop date. Consequently, I was not able …show more content…
I have had extensive conversations with my current foster parent in regards to my stay during my years in college to be certain I won’t have to worry about this issue for the coming years. Furthermore, I have spoken to my agency and other scholarships to make them aware of the payment deadlines to hopefully incite payments being submitted on time. I have registered for all next semester classes, and will continue to do so every semester to prevent any financial holds on my SAGE account from restricting me entrance into my classes, and I’ve begun taking courses through Lynda academic portal used by the university to try and get a head start in all the class material. I will also seek support from the Brandeis Counseling Center to alleviate any emotional hurdles I may be
