It is with great pleasure and honor that I take this opportunity to provide this letter as a personal reference for Ms. Shanette Lindo in regards to submitting an application to the prestigious JCCF.

I am one of the eldest sisters of Ms. Lindo and have known her since birth, which is the past 21 years. Since childhood, Ms. Lindo exhibited stellar characteristics that reassured me she would no doubt be a great success in life and a positive contributor to society. As a child in primary school, Ms. Lindo possessed exceptional mature qualities. She took great pride in her appearance, both at school and at home. Her belongings were always neatly organized as opposed to the rest of the five siblings. When others were late arriving to school, not

When others were sleeping, playing or creating mischief, she would be conducting daily chores in order to finish on time. She was wise to get her chores done early and had the rest of the day to use as she pleased. As she grew older, Ms, Lindo carried these wonderful traits with her. On Fridays when everyone finished the school week and thought not to clean their uniforms, Ms. Lindo took all this into careful consideration. Friday evening her uniforms were washed and hanging proudly, blowing in the wind in order to be ahead of the weather and frequent water shortage The rest of us fought for the resources on Sunday morning, but not her. She had a knack for thinking ahead and essentially ‘making hay while the sun shines’. She seized every opportunity to be proactive. Back then, the family would joke and call her “old lady” because of …show more content…
I can assure you that the qualities this young lady possess are unmatched. If you are looking for a person that embodies your motto, “to serve, to unite, to lead”, I urge you to please consider Ms. Lindo. I myself served four years in the United States Army where I travelled the world and interacted with other leaders for all around the world including Jamaica. If I can recommend anyone to this organization based on observation and personal knowledge, it would certainly be Ms.

Le Guin, “The Washwoman” by Issac Singer, and “The Last Leaf” by O. Henry, loss plays a dominant role in helping the characters find their identity, moral integrity, and hope to live.…
