Then we look at her orthographic knowledge this is “the understanding that the same sounds can spell. An example of this is when the teacher asked what does that spell she said the letter and then said Haydin. Haydin writing is in between stage 5 invented spelling and stage 6 standard spelling. (Moomaw & Hieronymus, 2001, p. 5-6) The reason that she is between is because she is writing her name, but some of the letters and backwards and she still is coloring in letters such as the e and the I. If Haydin continues to write I am sure that she will make it to the standard spelling
