A democratic leadership style is primarily concerned with human relations and teamwork. This type of leadership creates a spirit of collaboration and joint effort that result in staff satisfaction (Sullivan & Decker, 2009). This being so, they do not let the decisions be based only on their perspective which would make it more authoritative unless when there is specific protocol to follow. With downward communication, she does this whenever she receives a call from other external health facilities l about a patient that we will be receiving. She has to look at her list of available doctors that will attend the patient, find physician who is available at the time and a bed that is appropriate to this patient. Her role befits her skills and her competencies. However, the hospital system must be re-organized to ensure that patients are assigned to appropriate departments. There seems to have a communication glitch that must be addressed (Aliakbari et al.
