After teaching my lesson on Clothesline of Clues Jobs People Can Do, I realized I needed to make a few changes in my lesson. In my behavior objectives, I forgot to write my new vocabulary words on a piece of paper in sentences. I realized this when I got to the start of my lesson. I was giving the children a five-minute warning till circle time, and had some help with the circle time song. Next, I told the children to listen to hear the different clues to see if you can figure out or guess the job of the person. As I read the book, each time one of the jobs was revealed, I asked what does that person do at their job. The children could answer the question every time I asked it. After I read the book, I played a memory game with the children. I had seven cards of the names of the jobs from the book and a bag filled with different clothing items that go with each one. The children had fun with this game, but some also had some trouble. I realized I should have used Velcro to put the game pieces on a board, made pictures of the jobs instead of the names, and the pieces could have been bigger so the students can see it. Afterwards, I also realized some of the students might not be able to read the names, so that is what I should fix for next time. Other than that, the children were really engaged throughout my lesson at circle

The planning of the lesson is the responsibility of the teacher, regardless of the HLTA that is taking over the class for some time, they would normally be involved in delivering the lesson plan of teacher. However, although the teacher owns that responsibility, it is also advised that the HLTA should be involved with planning, scheduling and the preparation of lessons. This favours both the teacher and HLTA as they can be on the same level of judgement and understanding when it comes to evaluating lessons and assignments of the students, furthermore, the HLTA can continue to further assist in adapting the lesson plans and make changes when necessary. In terms of planning and preparation, it is what makes the lessons structured and organised,…

October 6, 2016 was my fourth day visiting Miami Elementary School. Over the past couple of visits I have learned many new things as I observe the class and their activities. I have learned that by rewarding your students when they do something good, makes the students want to strive to do the right thing more often. I have also learned that kindergarteners have a very short attention span, meaning they need to be constantly busy with new activities or they will lose their concentration.…
