Please remember that all children must have access to the activity. Sometimes you simply need to adapt the materials or methods in order to make the activity accessible to all children in your care. Describe 2- 3 adaptations. The first example I will use is a child who is physically impaired, the way I would accommodate this activity for inclusion to occur will be to be very verbal and have him participate as part of the audience. Since this child is only physically impaired he/she is able to still speak and therefor can communicate with the teacher to identify and describe physical attributes to sort the “sorters” or children in groups. Another example will be a child who has a hearing impairment. What are your suggestions for making this activity/lesson plan more sensitive to CLAD? Making sure they treat each other with respect, learn about each other culture and background and try to do activity from each so the children can learn different culture activity. This activity demonstrates sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity because all children are able to participate based on physical traits regardless of gender, language, race, culture, religion, or disability. Instead you are sorting them by physical attributes. The activity is well suited because it accommodates to everyone without eliminating any
