Leslie Patton: A Case Study

Leslie Patton is a 74 year old retired musician. She lives on her own in an apartment in Harlem. She has no children and never married. Due to many years of playing the piano, she was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis about 10 years ago. As she continues to age, the joint pain and its effects have been worse. She is no longer able to play the piano, cook, or sometimes dress herself. She has requested for a home health aide, but it’s still in the process of completion.
When she arrived to the hospital, she looks very frail and lacks energy. From observation, she looks as if she hasn’t been eating for days. She complains of difficulties feeding herself due to the joint pain and stiffness in her fingers. She states that she unable to hold her feeding
