One of the greatest mathematicians, physicist, logician and engineer, Leonhard Euler, was born on April 15th, 1707. The influential mathematical genius was born in Basel, Switzerland. Euler made fundamental contributions to virtually every branch of mathematics to his day ("Euler, Leonhard"). His discoveries include the notation of a function f(x). This allowed other mathematicians to study straight lines and curved lines of a function.
Euler had accomplished many mathematical ideas. He introduced and made popular many of the standard symbols we use today such as i for , π for pi, e for his famous number, and ρ for summation ("Euler, Leonhard"). Euler was not only a genius with amazing insight on the word of mathematics, but he also was a

Euclid, a very famous mathematician, composed a book of his findings called Elements. This book was written in about 300 B.C.E. and his ideas were a starting point in the field of geometry, which is studied around the world today. One of the many theorems in this book was "If two straight lines cut one another, the vertical, or opposite, angles shall be equal" (Document 5). Another famous mathematician named Pythagoras has also donated many ideas into the mathematics of geometry. One of his most famous theorems includes the Pythagorean Theorem.…

He came up with a theorem on invariants, which are things that don’t change when other things are changed. He opened many doors in the scientific and mathematical world by proving his and others theories, to be correct. His innovation of the matrix theory was far better than other theories, because it did not require matrix-elements to be repeatedly referred to the equations from which they were taken. His discoveries help us because scientists are not to study the atomic particle, because his matrix theorem is able to see bigger numbers. His development of n-dimensional geometry is used in physics to help in the study of the space-time continuum.…
