Two numbers are named after Leonhard Euler in Calculus, e, which is about equal to 2.71828, and Euler-Mascheroni Constant, Y, which is also called “Euler’s Constant”, and equal to 0.57721. Also involving his Calculus findings, he wrote a textbook ‘Institutiones calculi differentialis’ in 1755 and also another book called ‘Institutiones calculi integralis’ from the time period of 1766-70. Something most of us know, also, would be his invention of f(x) to denote the function, and a greek letter for summations. Another textbook written by Euler is, ‘Introductio in analysis infinitorum’ . This book was out in 1748, which explained the concept of function in mathematical analysis. Euler worked to prove Newton’s identities, and theories from the mathematician. He not only had an interest in Mathematics, but also in astronomy. Euler worked on developing a theory of lunar motion. This involved the interactions of Sun, Moon, and Earth. Though we was interested in this, he was only successful at a partial solution which was published in 1753. Living a life of 76 years, Leonhard Euler died of a brain hemorrhage in Saint Petersburg on September 18, 1783. He left a legacy of being one of the most
