Leonardo Da Vinci's Accomplishments

When you think of Leonardo da- Vinci what do you think of? I think of his artwork, inventions, and sketches. When I think of his sketches, I think of his ball bearing and the self propelled vehicle. When I think of his art, I think of "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper". You wouldn't guess that he had moved around and had a ruff family and a big family. But his art work and inventions turned his world around. Leonardo Da-Vinci was born in Vinci, Italy. He lived with his mom for five years, from 1452-1457. His dad (Ser Piero) than adopted him after those five years. He has a total of 17 half sisters and brothers. He didn't start taking art classes till he was fourteen. He than took art classes with Andrea di Cione. She had thought him plaster casting, metal working, carpentry, mechanics and, chemistry. She also thought him modeling, painting and, sculpting. Even though he suffered from paralysis in the right hand, he was still great at art. He once wrote, "Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen." He later died at age 67, in the Kings arms. His first "big hit" was "The Last Supper". He is also best known for "Mona Lisa". He started "The Last Supper" in 1495. He ended it in 1497, that's 10 years after he ended the "Mona Lisa". "Art is never finished, only abandoned" - Leonardo da-Vinci. Leonardo was not only known for art, he was also known for science. He sketched many things most known for the ball bearing and self propelled vehicle. The Ball Bearing is used in a lot of factories today.
